Vehicle wrapping has become a popular advertising solution for businesses, turning work vans into mobile billboards. Our team recently took on the challenge of wrapping a double-decker bus, which proved to be one of our biggest projects to date.

From Design To Installation
Design & Preparation
With the advancements in digital design, we were able to collaborate with our client to create a scaled down illustration of the bus prior to printing. This ensured that we were able to achieve the desired aesthetic before beginning the print process. Our wide format printer, capable of printing up to 64 inches, was used in-house to produce approximately 60 metres of vinyl. The vinyl was then laminated and trimmed to size by hand.
Before applying the new wrap, we first needed to remove the old wrap and prepare the surface of the bus. This involved heating the old vinyl and using a solvent spray to remove any residual glue. We then gave the bodywork a thorough clean, using a cleaner specifically formulated for vinyl wraps to avoid any interference with the adhesive.
Wrap Application
The wrap was applied in drops, starting from the rear of the bus to ensure proper overlap and prevent water penetration. The vinyl was heated to accommodate the curves and contours of the bus’s body. To allow for visibility from within the bus, we applied contravision vinyl over the windows, which has small holes that are barely visible from a distance.
The Final Result
The finished product was a vibrant, impactful wrap that breathed new life into the bus. The client’s request for window visibility was successfully achieved, creating a striking wrap that effectively grabbed the attention of passersby.
