Impactful Entrance & Wayfinding Signage Farnborough Hill School
The Brief
Farnborough Hill School recently underwent a rebranding, and as part of this effort, they saw an opportunity to refresh their signage.
The school recognised the need to make their entrances more impressive, as well as to improve wayfinding, directing traffic from the main road, as well as students and members of the public around the large school grounds.
“Our designers produced a signage family that honoured the school's new modern branding.”
A Full Service Approach
Butler were brought on board to survey the school grounds and main road, identifying the best positions for wayfinding signs to guide traffic, and key locations in the school grounds to guide students and members of the public.
Our designers produced a signage family that honoured the school’s new modern branding, using clear and legible fonts and a watermark that reflected the school’s crest.
For the entrance signs, Butler specified bespoke post mounted signs for maximum impact and visibility. The signs consisted of aluminium panels with shaped top and bottom edges, with thick clear acrylic panels mounted to the face, featuring a contour cut white vinyl logo. This created a stand-off effect and was complemented by chrome stand-off fixings for a modern and eye-catching result.
For the wayfinding in the school grounds, Butler used aluminium composite panels with printed and laminated vinyl for long-lasting, eye-catching results.

Installation
Butler coordinated with the school to ensure minimal disruption during the installation process. The installation of the post mounted signs involved ground scanning for hidden services, great care was then taken not to mark the clear acrylic panels.
