Sheencroft House
Office Branding & Wayfinding
Flude Property Consultants approached Butler to help transform Sheencroft House, a converted office building in Haywards Heath, into a clearly branded, welcoming and easy-to-navigate space. While the building was well located, it lacked a cohesive identity and clear wayfinding, presenting an opportunity to create a strong first impression for tenants and visitors.
Our brief was to develop a modern signage and wayfinding scheme that enhanced the architecture, improved visibility from the street, and could adapt as tenants change over time.
The Challenge
Sheencroft House presented several key challenges:
- The building had no established brand or visual identity
- Wayfinding was unclear for visitors navigating multiple tenants and floors
- External visibility from the road was limited
- The design needed to feel contemporary without clashing with the existing architecture
- All signage needed to be flexible and future-proofed for tenant changes
The solution needed to balance clarity, durability and visual impact.
Our Approach
We delivered the project through our full end-to-end service:
- Conducted a thorough site survey to assess sightlines, materials and user flow
- Developed a bespoke brand identity for the building
- Produced a detailed design proposal, including photographic renders and a full quotation
- Installed the scheme safely and efficiently with minimal disruption
This approach allowed the client to clearly visualise the finished result and ensured consistency from concept through to completion.

“A carefully selected typeface references the architectural features of the property, reflecting both the curved tiles and the angled terraces while maintaining a clean, modern feel.”
Design Concept
The branding for Sheencroft House was inspired directly by the building itself.
A carefully selected typeface references the architectural features of the property, reflecting both the curved tiles and the angled terraces while maintaining a clean, modern feel. This is paired with a chevron motif taken from an architectural detail on the building and echoed inside the lobby through the flooring layout, creating a subtle but cohesive design language.
The colour palette was chosen to feel contemporary while sitting comfortably against the existing brickwork and surrounding environment.
External Signage
To improve visibility from the road, we designed and installed a double-sided aluminium totem sign, positioned perpendicular to traffic for maximum impact.
The totem features a segmented layout with individual tenant panels separated by shadow gaps, adding depth and visual hierarchy. This design allows tenant information to be updated easily without replacing the entire sign, ensuring long-term flexibility.
Durable finishes and contour-cut vinyl graphics were used to deliver a high-quality, professional appearance that complements the building façade.
Entrance & Lobby Branding
As visitors approach the building, branded window vinyl introduces the Sheencroft House identity and provides clear wayfinding at the entrance.
Inside the lobby, we created a strong focal point using a flat-cut aluminium logo, finished in matte black and mounted on concealed locators for a clean, floating effect. This is paired with a large-format wall vinyl featuring a local landmark image, adding character and a sense of place to the space.
An oak and aluminium directory system was installed to list tenants clearly and professionally. All panels are mounted using hidden locator fixings, allowing individual panels to be removed and updated without tools as tenants change.

Internal Wayfinding
Throughout the building, wayfinding remains consistent and intuitive.
Flat-cut aluminium floor indicators were installed in stairwells, alongside door panels and tenant signage that mirror the materials and finishes used elsewhere. The locator fixing system is used throughout, ensuring a tidy appearance while making future updates straightforward.
This consistency reinforces the building’s identity while making navigation simple for visitors and occupants.
The Result
The completed scheme provides Sheencroft House with a cohesive visual identity and a clear, professional wayfinding system. The building now benefits from:
- Improved street presence and visibility
- A welcoming, branded entrance and lobby
- Clear navigation throughout all floors
- A flexible signage system designed to evolve with the building
The result is a modern, well-considered signage solution that enhances both the building and the experience of those using it.
